Making History

The story of this legendary fundraiser began more than 20 years ago, when a devoted Association Board of Directors member presented an idea of a choreographed evening, then by a New York group called LeMasquerade, to Suzanne Warren, who co-chaired the inaugural LeMasquerade in 1990.

In 2006, international event planner Phil Long revamped LeMasquerade to co-create Carnivale with Mrs. Warren, whose family has supported the black-tie affair since its inception.

Over the years, Carnivale has showcased an array of outrageous attractions, such as leopard-painted dancers, caged motorcyclists, cringe-worthy contortionists, aerial gods and goddesses, high-flying acrobats and a blind-folded tight-rope walker, who risked his life on a rotating 40-foot “Wheel of Death.”
